***Sizing: We have worked hard to get our sizing just right, but with molded boots it is very tricky. The Wide calf boots run a little big in the foot area. On these boots we recommend "rounding down" (if you are an 11.5, you should order an 11)
***Calf Width: The opening at the top of these boots is approximately 21 inches (men's size 11).
Warning
As awesome as these boots are, they don't like extreme temperature. Exposure to direct sunlight for extended periods of time (bed of your truck, or closed vehicle with no window tint), or high heat (furnace, fireplace), can cause these boots to shrink or deform.
They can also develop a "memory", so don't leave them "squished" up for extended periods of time.
This is my second season with my Lite Boots. OMG, they are great. Light weight and they fit my legs and feet (size 13). I gave the other boots to my son who lives in Chicago. He has smaller calf’s and the extra warmth is appreciated. The Lite Boots
make my shoveling snow much easier.
I bought the "Classic, Wide calf" after trying them on at an Outdoor show last winter. I'll start by saying, I am hard on my boots. I put a lot of miles on and expect to go through one pair of waterproof boots per year. Most of my other brand boots have worn out where the ankle flexes. They all seem to crack and eventually break. These Lite boots are still intact around that area. So far, I have 260 miles on these Lite boots. Most of my wear has been in woods/fields situations...very little "road miles".
They are completely waterproof and I haven't worn through them anywhere or torn them at all.
Most of the time that I am wearing them, I am also wearing briar proof chaps, so I am sure that helps. The boots are comfortable. Like the name says, they are extremely lightweight. It makes it easy to stack miles without feeling like i am overly weighed down.
My outsoles are completely worn down at this point. There are essentially no lugs left on either boot. The traction of these boots are definitely lacking. I feel like this has been a downside of these boots from day 1. It is hard to wear these in muddy situations and next to impossible to wear them in a winter environment. As I first said though, I am getting towards the end of this pairs life....I've worn them a lot.
Another downfall is that they are easily penetrated by briars and thorns. I've had several thorns go straight up through the sole and into the bottom of my feet.
I feel like these would be awesome boots if they would have a better outsole. I realize that the weight of the boot would be heavier but the positive would outweigh the negative. The traction would improve, and the boots would be much more durable.
I will admit, I won't buy another pair of these for my use. They have been good to me, but I will sacrifice having a light weight boot for having better traction with another brand.
16" Classic, WIDE CALF, Men's
I love these boots, they are very comfortable and warm plus very light. My other pair I bought must of shrinked because they are hard to put on, that is why I bought this pair.
Great boots
